If you are looking for an iPhone 3G or 3GS accessory and you like social networking, might we suggest reading a little more about the new iOpener Case bottle opener.
Tom Ramies the mechanic and Clay Baker the industrial designer banged heads together and decided what ‘IF’ you could go into a pub and open a beer with an opener attached to the iPhone case and once you have popped the cap on the bottle of beer it triggers of a social networking trend.
Well it is here, yes a case and a beer app that would totally reinvent social networking via an app called BevConX (iTunes). If you visit the West/280 website you can see these cases in either white or black for the 3G or 3GS Apple smartphones for $29.99, the polymer iPhone case has a stainless steel food grade bottle opener that slips back into the case when you are not using it.
There will be a connection to BevConX, which is an app that lists 1,200 names of popular beverages; there is an accelerometer within the case that will sense when the iOpener case pops off the bottle cap. Once the cap has been pooped it activates the BevConX application and then shares the bottle you are opening with Twitter or Facebook, this is fantastic as it lets your friends know where you are drinking.
Ramies and Baker are chatting to brewers in the hope that they can hand out coupons to customers that are identified as soon as the bottle cap is popped with an iOpener.
We think this is an iPhone accessory well worth thinking about; it combines an accessory, an app and of course social networking. Please let us know what you think about the news above; we find it very interesting indeed.
