Bus Stops for iPhone charging as part of ad scheme

Just imagine you get up in the morning and you then head off down the road to the bus stop, you need to make a phone call but your Apple iPhone battery is dead, well not to worry because you will be able to charge you smartphone at the bus stop.

A new ad scheme with Vitamin Water signage becoming a new vehicle for charging stations in select cities across the US, this was discovered by Crispin Porter and Bogusky.

Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and New York are all part of the home to mobile phone charging stations, which have been built into Vitamin Water ads at bus stops.

This is a good idea and will help millions who want to conveniently charge their dead iPhone or iPad.

The bus shelters will be equipped with USB ports for charging; Crispin Porter and Bogusky are the ones behind the Microsoft “I’m a PC” campaign who are now using the tag line “Alternative Energy Source”.

Here are a few things to think about, Samsung has charging kiosks already in a few airports so nothing unique here, and are we not right in saying that police say be vigilant when using a mobile phones in public as this can potentially cause thefts.

Another thing on our minds is that only so many people can charge their mobile phones at once, say there are 20 people waiting at the bus stop and there are only a few charging ports, will this cause arguments, damage, etc.

Just a few more points to think about, how many bus stops have you been too where there is not chewing gum stuck to the seat etc? It will not take long for someone to stick chewing gum in the ports, nightclubs and pubs etc come to a close at night and a certain person is dying for a wee, oh look a bus stop with a big ad sign to pee against.

Many times I have left my phone in a taxi, on a bus and on a train, yes forgetful mind I know but I am not the only one, charge your phone and the possibility of forgetfulness especially if you in a rush to get to work and scared of the boss flying off the handle.

Please let us know what you think about charging iPhones at bus stops, we welcome you comments as this is very interesting, do you think it is a good idea or not?
