You could pretty much bank on today being the day for Apple to send out invitations for the iPhone 5 event, and this became a reality in the last couple of hours. You can see the very basic invitation for Apple’s September 12 event on this page, which shows a big “12” for the date in September and also a little clue for the iPhone name.
It has to be called iPhone 5 – not everyone loves this name but the 6th generation iPhone has become known commonly as the iPhone 5 over the course of 2012.
