Apple surprised a few people yesterday by releasing iOS 6.0.2 update for the iPhone to combat the Wi-Fi issues that some users have been suffering from. It was hoped that the battery issues would also be rectified in this update, but it’s only the one fix for now. However, it seems as though there are still a few iPhone 5 and 4S users who are still experiencing Wi-Fi issues, but we’re still waiting to see how widespread this issue actually is.
I was happy when I learned of this update because I have been suffering from these Wi-Fi issues myself. There have been a number of occasions where it would often take ages to load a page or collect emails, only for me to give up and turn the Wi-Fi off and use my 3G instead. However, after a few minutes I would turn the Wi-Fi connection back on and all would be fine. This would normally happen three or four times a week.
Have you noticed any improvement to Wi-Fi or battery? So far all is fine with my iPhone 5 and nothing else seems to have changed, but we have been hearing from a few friends that they have noticed an improvement to their battery, but we find this hard to believe because Apple did not include a battery fix in the iOS 6.0.2 update. Although you have to wonder if this Wi-Fi issue could have had an adverse affect on the battery performance?
